Wisconsin Wastewater Plant to be Upgraded
An aging wastewater treatment plant in the city of Omro, Wisc., has been scheduled for a a total of $1.7 million of improvements.
Construction bids for the project are expected in January 2005, with work to start in March and completed the end of October next year.
"When this project is completed, it will be the equivalent of having a new wastewater facility for the city," said Linda Kutchenriter, administrator for the city of Omro.
The upgrade, approved Tuesday by the Omro City Council, will not affect the tax levy. Kutchenriter said the city will get a loan from the state’s Clean Water Fund for the wastewater treatment project.
