Dr. Thomas R. Coughlin, Jr., CEO of Centrex, Inc., has been named Chairman of the Board of the Homeland Security Technology Council (HSTC). The HSTC is a non-profit organization of Homeland Security technology users, manufacturers, developers and suppliers which serves as an information and consultation resource for government and industry. While the HSTC is composed of a diverse group of representatives from government, private industry and academia, all are focused on Homeland Security technology development and applications.
As chairman and director for the HSTC, Coughlin will be involved in initiating peer review processes and helping establish industry standards for biodetection devices, in cooperation with the Interagency Board for Equipment Standardization and Interoperability, as well as other agencies. He also will continue in his duties as CEO of Centrex, Inc. Centrex, Inc., is a development stage company that owns the exclusive worldwide license to develop, manufacture and market a system for detecting microbial contamination in air, food and water by recognizing the unique genetic fingerprint of the contaminant.
