Growing Pittsburgh-Based Infrastructure Technology Company Adds Second Water Industry Executive as Senior Advisor

J.A. Cederna, former Chairman and CEO of Calgon Carbon Corporation, has been named a senior advisor to the growing infrastructure technology company Underground Solutions, Inc. Mr. Cederna, who will join the Underground Solution's Advisory Board, will work with Mark A. Smith, UGSI's CEO, to position the company in its transition from a technology development company to a national water infrastructure service provider.

Cederna has over thirty years of experience in sales and service to the water industry and related fields. Cederna was a 22 year employee of Dow Chemical in charge of varied businesses including water treatment chemicals, membranes and ion exchange resins. He also served as the leader of three global companies including Columbian Chemicals, Arizona Chemical and Calgon Carbon Corporation.

Underground Solutions President and CEO Mark Smith stated, "I am very excited to have Jim join our team. His global experience as a supplier to the water industry makes him ideally suited to help us achieve our growth objectives."

Cederna stated, "I am extremely optimistic about the growth prospects for this newly approved solution for replacement of our country's underground drinking water lines. This is the most practical and economical solution every municipality in the USA to improve their aging water distribution lines. I am delighted to use my experience and management expertise to be the coach that brings the UGSI team to success."

Last week it was announced that Underground Solutions named Don Correll as a senior advisor. Correll is the former Chairman and CEO of United Water Resources, one of America's largest investor owned water providers prior to being acquired by French utility giant Suez.
