California Water Service Group Elects Two New Directors

California Water Service Group announced today the election of Bonnie G. Hill and David N. Kennedy to its board of directors.

"Each of these very distinguished professionals brings a unique expertise to our Board. Ms. Hill is an expert on corporate governance issues, and Mr. Kennedy has 44 years of experience in water supply project planning and engineering. Both are well-rounded, highly qualified individuals, and it is my great pleasure to welcome them to our Board," said chairman Robert W. Foy.

Hill's consulting firm, B. Hill Enterprises, LLC, specializes in corporate governance and board organizational and public policy issues. She also serves as chief operating officer for Icon Blue, a Los Angeles-based brand marketing company.

Prior to forming her own company, Hill served as president and chief executive officer of the Times Mirror Foundation and senior vice president, Community Relations, for the Los Angeles Times. A director on several Fortune 200 boards, as well as the boards of the Los Angeles Urban League and the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Hill has a broad range of experience in the public and private sectors. She holds a doctorate in education from the University of California at Berkeley.

As a former director of the California Department of Water Resources (CDWR), Kennedy is widely regarded as an expert on the state's water supply issues. Prior to his appointment to that post by Governor George Deukmejian, Kennedy served as assistant general manager of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Also a UC Berkeley graduate, he holds a master of science degree in civil engineering.

California Water Service Group is the parent company of California Water Service Company, Washington Water Service Company, New Mexico Water Service Company, and CWS Utility Services. The operating companies provide regulated and non-regulated water service to over 2 million people in 98 communities. The company's common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "CWT."
