April 22, 2003

EPA Administrator Christie Whitman will host a live online discussion regarding Earth Day on the White House Web site today, April 22 at 6 p.m. EDT.

"Since that first Earth Day 33 years ago, we have made significant strides in cleaning up our environment, and this Administration is furthering those efforts in pursuit of our goal to make our air cleaner, our water purer, and our land better protected," Whitman stated.

The 30-minute online discussion will give people the opportunity to interact with Administrator Whitman in the second installment of the "Ask the White House" series.

Participants can ask questions online one hour before the event. Everyone will be able to view Administrator Whitman's responses on the White House Web site (www.whitehouse.gov/ask).
