WaterChef's PureSafe Water Station has been selected for a pilot program by Sanaa, the Honduran agency for water and sanitation. The selection of the PureSafe comes as the result of a series of meetings between WaterChef management and representatives of Honduran government agencies held in December 2002.
The PureSafe Water Station is a self-contained, six-stage water purification system that produces up to 15,000 gallons per day of clean, healthy drinking water from any water source. PureSafe destroys all living pathogens and handles a broad range of organic and inorganic contaminants – for less than a penny per gallon. PureSafe is patented and trademarked in the United States, as well as in China, Korea, Mexico, the European Union, and elsewhere.
Over 80 percent of the population of Honduras lacks access to pure drinking water. As a result, according to Honduran health officials, over 20 percent of the population suffers from serious gastro-intestinal disorders.
