Insituform Plant Attains OSHA's Star Status in Voluntary Protection Program

Insituform Technologies, Inc. has announced that the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) has awarded Insituform's manufacturing plant in Batesville, Mississippi, the highest rating in its Volunteer Protection Program.

OSHA created the Volunteer Protection Program to recognize work sites that have implemented comprehensive and successful safety and health management systems. These work sites also have achieved below-average injury and illness rates for their industry.

The Insituform plant in Batesville manufactures the tubes used in the company's cured-in-place method of sewer rehabilitation. It is one of approximately 827 plants nationally to receive Star status – the program's highest level of compliance.

Commenting, Anthony W. (Tony) Hooper, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Insituform, said, "Our Batesville employees have taken the Volunteer Protection Program very seriously and involved employees on every level in creating a safe workplace. We are pleased that OSHA has recognized their efforts with this award."
