Deer Park Natural Spring Water, first-time water sponsor of the Marine Corps Marathon, announced the results of the first Deer Park Metro Challenge. Part of the 27th annual Marine Corps Marathon, the Deer Park Metro Challenge is a race within a race for Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia residents, offering athletes a chance to go head-to-head with other competitors from their home states.
As a first-time water sponsor, Deer Park's sponsorship is the largest operational undertaking for the Marine Corps Marathon to date. As part of Deer Park's sponsorship of the Marine Corps Marathon, the company also sponsored the Runner Hospitality Tent, the inaugural Marine Corps Marathon 5k, "The Washington Post Presents: Marine Corps Marathon Healthy Kids' Fun Run" and the Pasta Party. Deer Park's extensive sponsorship also included logo placement on runners' race bibs, space blankets and towels.
This year's top male and female finishers from the D.C. Metro area were honored with a Deer Park Metro Challenge award at the Marine Corps Marathon Awards Ceremony this afternoon, presented by Jodie Adolfson, sponsorship manager, Nestle Waters North America, Inc.
