NSF International, The Public Health and Safety Company, has certified the National Association of Pipe Fabricators (NAPF) flanged and grooved ductile-iron pipe products to NSF/ANSI 61 2002. NSF is the world leader in standards development, product certification, education and risk management solutions for public health and safety. Compliance with all phases of the NSF Certification Program is a requirement for continued membership in NAPF.
Member companies of NAPF whose products are certified bear the NSF Mark and are listed on the NSF website (www.nsf.org) and in NSF-certified product listing books. NSF audits each facility annually, verifies formulations, performs laboratory testing of the products and ensures compliance to allow for continued use of the NSF Mark. Products that successfully meet the criteria also receive a QualityPlus! designation from NAPF.
"This expanded inspection program assures engineers, inspectors, specification writers and owners alike that fabricated piping bearing the NSF Mark & NAPF QualityPlus! label conform to the highest industry standards," stated Ted Wright, President, National Association of Pipe Fabricators. "The NAPF is proud to be affiliated with an organization with the experience and integrity of NSF International."
"The NSF Mark is one of the most recognized marks by manufacturers and industry leaders," said Mark Jost, Senior Vice President, Water Systems. "We congratulate NAPF for taking a leadership position by requiring NSF certification in their membership criteria. This demonstrates their continued commitment to quality and to addressing consumer confidence."
