The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 is soliciting proposals from state agencies, local governments and tribes interested in applying for federal assistance for the State/Tribal/Local Government Wetlands Protection Development Grant Program under the Clean Water Act section 104(b)(3), 33 U.S.C.1254(b)(3) in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
EPA Region 6 estimates $1.3 million will be awarded to eligible applicants through assistance agreements. The state, tribe or local government must provide a 25 percent match of the total costs of the project. Fifteen percent of the funding allocation will be targeted to support local and tribal initiatives.
EPA Region 6 will consider all proposals post marked by November 1, 2002. Proposals received after the due date will not be considered for funding. (No exceptions will be made.) Once the proposal is approved for further funding consideration, applicants will be notified to submit a formal application.
