Stormwater Management Receives Verification from the New Jersey Corp. for Advanced Technology

Aug. 7, 2002

The Stormwater Management StormFilter by Stormwater Management Inc., has become the first and only proprietary stormwater treatment system to be verified by the New Jersey Corporation for Advanced Technology (NJCAT). NJCAT is a private-public partnership made up of leaders in business and industry, university research centers, utilities and government. The mission of the partnership is to promote the development and commercialization of new environmental technologies. In addition, NJCAT profiles markets, identifies demands for particular environmental and technological systems in those markets and seeks out the technologies to meet the demands.

Approved technologies may be recommended to state agencies or commissions by NJCAT for expedited permitting. The NJCAT verification status of the StormFilter is the result of rigorous evaluation of Stormwater Management’s technological claims. These claims, based primarily on carefully collected laboratory data of total suspended solids (TSS) removal, are specific to particle size, filtration media type and flow rate through the StormFilter cartridge.

"The significance of NJCAT verification of the StormFilter technology cannot be overstated," said James Lenhart, P.E. Vice-President of Research and Development. "It illustrates our commitment to product improvement and it sets the cornerstone in developing technological standards for the emerging stormwater treatment industry."
