Environmental Discharge Concerns Key Driver in Choice of Membrane Technology for New Power Plant to Be Built in Hungary
Source Zenon Environmental, Inc.
ZENON Environmental is set to start designing what will be Europe's largest membrane based boiler feed water treatment plant with a contract value of nearly $8 million.
ZENON's equipment will be installed at a new power plant that will be built to meet increasing electricity demands in Hungary's growing economy. In addition, there is substantial concern over the high level of salt concentration in the water, which is being discharged into the Tiszai River in Hungary. New government regulations prohibit excessive levels of salts contained in any industrial water discharge.
ZENON's membrane based system will substantially reduce the level of salt discharged and ensure the required level of quality for the new power plant.
