Grenawitzke Receives Walter S. Mangold Award

NSF International (www.nsf.org), The Public Health and Safety Company announced that Harry Grenawitzke, vice president, Regulatory Affairs was named the recipient of the 2002 Walter S. Mangold Award.

The Walter S. Mangold Award is the highest honor that the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) bestows on one of its members. The award is given in honor of Professor Mangold for his contributions to environmental and public health. Grenawitzke was recognized for his lifetime dedication and technical excellence to environmental health. He is a registered sanitarian and an accomplished leader who has participated in the development of numerous public health and environmental protection policies.

Grenawitzke has been with NSF for more than 11 years serving as the principal liaison between NSF and regulatory agencies and administering NSF audit services to clients. He works closely with industry and regulatory officials to promote the value of NSF standards and certification to protect public health.

Before joining NSF, Grenawitzke was the Director of Environmental Health for Monroe County (Michigan) Department of Health. He is Vice President of the American Academy of Sanitarians and is a past President of NEHA. He served as an officer of several professional and civic organizations in the County of Monroe and the State of Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Ferris State University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan.
