NUCA Issues Charters to Three New Chapters

June 26, 2002

At the National Utility Contractors Association’s June 2002 Washington Summit, NUCA presented charters to three new NUCA chapters: NUCA of Las Vegas, NUCA of Tennessee and the Florida Directional Drilling Association, An Affiliated NUCA Chapter.

"During my year as president, we formed NUCA chapters in three different locations around the country," said former NUCA President Jeff Weitzel. "NUCA of Las Vegas was the first to come on board, followed by Tennessee and the Florida Directional Drillers Association. Our growing family of chapters will give us a stronger, more cohesive national voice and provide members in those states the opportunity to get to know other contractors and suppliers in the area."

With these three additions, NUCA now has a network of 43 affiliated chapters across the United States representing the interests of the underground utility construction industry at the local and state level. All three chapters are already holding events for the members they serve and plan new activities in the coming months.

This is a great indication of the continued growing strength of our industry at all levels," said Bruce Seymore II, NUCA director of member and chapter relations. "Additional chapters in NUCA’s expanding network will give us a stronger national representation, increasing the pool of expertise from which we have to draw."

The National Utility Contractors Association, based in Arlington, Va., comprises 43 chapters of local underground utility construction contractors and suppliers throughout the United States. NUCA’s nearly 2,000 members provide the materials and workforce to build and maintain our nation’s network of water, sewer, gas, telecommunications and other utility systems.
