Pennsylvania-American Water Company recently provided customers across the state a detailed report on the quality of their drinking water. These reports measure the quality of Pennsylvania-American's water against the standards established by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Customers will find information about the source of supply specific to the area, the parameters Pennsylvania-American tests for in customers' drinking water, what parameters were detected, their levels and commonly asked questions and answers concerning drinking water.
"Consumers want to know more about the products that impact their lives," said Robert M. Ross, Pennsylvania-American Water President and CEO. "Since water plays such an essential role in our customers' daily activities, we feel it's our job to keep them informed about the quality of their drinking water. We do this because we want our customers to be confident that their water is of the highest quality possible." He added that Pennsylvania-American water meets and often surpasses all federal and state drinking water standards.
"Knowing that we have 2 million people statewide relying on us to provide them with clean drinking water, it's not a responsibility we take lightly," Ross said.
The Water Quality Report, which will be updated and distributed annually, was mailed directly to nearly 600,000 customers statewide. Those who are served by Pennsylvania-American Water Company, but did not receive a water quality report, can contact PAWC's customer service center at (800) 565-7292, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
