CSA International Expands In-line Water Filter Testing Program

April 12, 2002

CSA International, a certification and testing provider for plumbing, electrical, gas and other industry sectors, announced an expansion of its water filter testing program to include in-line water filter certification and testing to ANSI/NSF 42 and 53 standards.

"The expansion of our water filter testing facilities is a demonstration of CSA International’s commitment to providing a full-service, one-stop, ANSI and SCC accredited certification and testing facility for the entire U.S. and Canadian plumbing industry," said Rob M. Griffin, president and CEO, CSA Group. "CSA International is committed to providing our customers the most affordable and timely service they need to get their plumbing products certified."

The in-line water filter expansion extends CSA International’s existing pour-through water filter testing program, providing manufacturers certification and testing services for the entire ANSI/NSF 42 and 53 standards including material contamination, pressure and performance testing. This new service compliments the organizations existing full-service plumbing and drinking water evaluation programs, all conveniently located at CSA International’s Toronto, Ontario, facility.

Water filter manufacturers have found the presence of the familiar CSA mark to be an effective tool in adding credibility to their products performance claims. "We have found the CSA mark has provided the added credibility consumers look for when purchasing water filters," said Enviroguard President, Scott MacDonald. "As much faith as our customers have in our performance claims, the CSA mark adds the extra credibility needed to satisfy consumers and differentiate ourselves from our competitors."

CSA International is a provider of product testing and certification services for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas and a variety of other products. Recognized in Canada, the U.S. and around the world, CSA’s marks appear on over one billion products worldwide. CSA International is a division of CSA Group which consists of CSA International, the Canadian Standards Association, a developer of standards and codes, and QMI for management systems registration.
