MIOX Corp. Awarded Prestigious President's 'E' Award for Export Business

March 14, 2002

MIOX Corporation has been awarded the President’s "E" Award for Excellence in Exporting. The company has about 500 units installed in the U.S. and over 200 units installed in 20 foreign countries, with foreign sales constituting more than 25 percent of their total installation base.

MIOX Corporation was one of nine companies receiving the award for 2001. The company is the first New Mexico organization to have been granted the award in more than 15 years. New Mexico legislators will gather April 3rd at the MIOX corporate office to present the "E" award flag to company officials. In May, a presidential recognition is planned for "E" Award winners in a reception at the White House’s Rose Garden.

This prestigious award was created in 1961 by an executive order as the nation’s highest award to honor American exports. The award recognizes both success in the world market and contributions to the U.S. economy.

To qualify for the award, a manufacturer must substantially increase its volume of exports over a four-year period. Export business should constitute a significant portion of overall sales or be above the industry average. A breakthrough in a highly competitive market, or introduction of a new product must be demonstrated. Consideration is also given to overcoming key exporting problems and implementing an effective international marketing program.
