NSF Sacramento Operations Relocates

Feb. 20, 2002

NSF International is relocating its Sacramento, Calif., water products testing facilities to NSF world headquarters in Ann Arbor, Mich., to improve customer service. The relocation calls for the closing of the companys Sacramento laboratories where much of the testing of drinking water treatment units has been performed.

Currently, all products tested in Sacramento also require some additional testing in Ann Arbor to complete approvals needed for these products to display the NSF Mark. All testing now will be performed in newly remodeled state-of-the-art facilities at one location. According to Dennis Mangino, president and CEO of NSF, "The relocation wil reduce time needed to test and certify drinking water softners and filters to NSF/ANSI national standards. The change also will facilitate communications with customers, providing real-time, online accessibility to the status of ongoing evaluations."

The official closing of the laboratories is scheduled for March 22. Employees impacted by the change are being provided severance packages including career transition assistance and opportunities to fill open positions in Ann Arbor.
