The Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI) is aware of these issues and is offering solutions. The PPI’s Municipal and Industrial Division has scheduled a one-day seminar in Atlanta on "Designing and Installing High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Piping Systems." Manufacturing experts and engineers from across the country will be educating participants on aspects of design and installation of HDPE pipe.
The program will be on February 20, 2002 at the Radisson Hotel Atlanta Airport South from 8 a.m. to about 5 p.m. The seminar is designed specifically for engineers and specifiers and will focus on piping systems for water, sewer and industrial applications. All sessions have been reviewed and approved for .8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training.
Some of the specific topics to be covered include:
- Engineering properties and design
- Joining
- System connections
- Sliplining
Seating for these seminars is limited. The registration fee is $175 and each participant will receive a copy of the PPI Handbook of Polyethylene Pipe, a comprehensive instructional manual covering a wide range of applications and problem solving solutions for users of polyethylene pipe.
Sign up or get additional information on an individual seminar by calling PPI at 888-314-6774, ext. 13. More information is available at www.plasticpipe.org. A continental breakfast and buffet lunch are included. The PPI is the major trade association representing all segments of the plastics piping industry. Member companies share a common interest in broadening market opportunities that make effective use of plastics piping for water and gas distribution, sewer and wastewater, oil and gas production, industrial and mining uses, power and communications duct and irrigation.
