The Eastern Shoshone Tribe/Shoshone Utility Organization of Fort Washakie, Wyo., will be the first Indian tribe in the U.S. to use ZENON's technology for their new 3 million gallon per day drinking water treatment plant.
The Shoshone Utility Organization (Utility) conducted extensive analysis on different water treatment systems before choosing ZENON's membrane technology. Two points were central to their decision-making: the system's ability to treat water without the significant use of chemicals and concern over disposing a significant amount of sludge into the pristine environment. According to the Utility, the ZeeWeed membrane system satisfied their concerns on both counts.
The new plant will be built on the reservation community of Fort Washakie with a population in excess of 3,300. Upon completion in 2003, community members will be able to enjoy drinking pure, safe water that will be as pristine as their natural environment.
ZENON is a world leader in providing advanced membrane products and services for water purification, wastewater treatment and water reuse.
