Goodrich Receives Contract for Boeing 777 Potable Water Quantity Transmitter

Jan. 22, 2002

Goodrich Corp. was awarded a contract for the potable water transmitter for the Boeing 777 family of airplanes.

The transmitter measures the amount of water in the airplane water tanks and sends this information to the cabin crew. Most Boeing 777 airplanes employ three water tanks, each requiring one transmitter. Goodrich will begin to deliver the new transmitters in early March, and will also provide water quantity transmitters to support in-service airplanes. This award complements Goodrich's current potable water transmitter product line for Boeing 757, 767, and Next-Generation 737 airplanes.

According to Harry Arnold, president of Goodrich Fuel & Utility Systems, "This contract award represents a milestone for us. With the Boeing 777 program, we now design, develop, deliver, and support products for every Boeing commercial airplane model." Goodrich's De-icing and Specialty Systems division provides the heated drain mast and lavatory water heaters for the 777.
