Gorman-Rupp Declares Cash Dividend

Establishes Record Date for Annual Meeting

The board of directors of The Gorman-Rupp Co. declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.16 per share on the common stock of the company, payable March 8, 2002, to shareholders of record Feb. 15, 2002. this marks the 208th consecutive dividend paid by Gorman-Rupp.

Other action taken by the board of directors of Gorman-Rupp was the announcement of the annual meeting of shareholders scheduled to be held Thursday, April 25, 2002, and further, established the close of business on March 15, 2002 as the record date for shareholders entitled to notice of and to vote at the meeting. The meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m., eastern daylight time at the company's Training Center, 270 West Sixth Street, Mansfield, Ohio.
