Move Strengthens USFilter’s Industrial Water Treatment Outsourcing Offering and Reinforces Market Leadership Position
P>USFilter announced that it has acquired the U.S. operations of Houston-based Scaltech, one of the nation’s leading providers of refinery waste treatment. Under the terms of the agreement, USFilter will manage, through its USFilter Operating Services division, Scaltech’s operations including its 14 U.S. industrial outsourcing contracts.

Scaltech provides technology-based outsourcing services to the refining industry. The company designs, builds and operates proprietary on-site systems to provide waste management and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste material. Its patented technologies and expertise reduces overall waste management costs for refineries through more efficient processing and recycling of waste streams.

"We are extremely excited about this opportunity," said Ron Davis, executive vice president and general manager, USFilter Operating Services. "The acquisition significantly expands our industrial outsourcing business and, most importantly, further strengthens the offering we can make to our customers in the refinery market. Scaltech has proven itself in the marketplace with its patented technologies and expert staff to support refinery waste treatment, and the addition of them to our team is a notable asset to USFilter Operating Services."

Jim Gentry, vice president of Scaltech, will join USFilter Operating Services as vice president and general manager of USFilter-Scaltech and continue to lead Scaltech and manage the company’s 125 employees from its existing Houston headquarters.
