Haestad Methods and Gideon Informatics have announced a joint venture whereby the latter will promote and support Haestad's water resources software and services in India.
"We are pleased to have reached this agreement with Gideon Informatics as they have a sound reputation and extensive experience working with hydraulics and hydrology in India," said Douglas Maitland, Asia-Pacific sales director, Haestad Methods.
By combining engineering expertise with local presence, the Haestad Methods/Gideon Informatics team will penetrate the emerging water resources market throughout India. Both companies are committed to bringing innovative products and services to this nation's water professionals and to strategically expanding the customer base.
With a history of providing India with civil engineering software over the past 12 years, local representation is a natural progression for Haestad. Some of Haestad's key accounts in this area include, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and Dalal Consultants and Engineers.
Sheerang Deshpande was chosen by Haestad Methods to head the Indian office based on his knowledge and experience in applying GIS technology in the Indian community.
Deshpande previously worked for Nashik Municipal Corporation, Nashik, India as an executive engineer, where he developed, designed, and implemented multiple water supply and sewerage systems.
