International Desalination Assn. announces award recipient; MWRD seeks applicants

International Desalination Assn. Announces Recipient of 2019-2020 IDA Fellowship Award

The International Desalination Assn. (IDA) announced Dr. Jaichander Swaminathan, assistant professor and kanchan & harilal doshi chair for water and sanitation at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinager, as the recipient of the IDA 2019 Fellowship Award.

“IDA is proud to present this award to Dr. Swaminathan. One of IDA’s important initiatives is to support education and advanced training in the field of desalination and water reuse, which will become increasingly important in helping our world address critical issues surrounding water scarcity. We thank the University of Arizona’s Water & Energy Sustainable Technology Center and their partners for supporting the IDA Fellowship program, and we encourage other businesses and organizations to follow their lead,” said Ms. Shannon McCarthy, IDA’s Secretary General.

MWRD Seeks Applicants for Sustainable Landscaping & Biosolids User Awards

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) is accepting applications from Cook County individuals, organizations and businesses for its 2019 Sustainable Landscaping and Biosolids Beneficial Reuse Awards through Sep. 15.

The awards recognize the activities and innovations from entities, such as park districts, villages, schools, golf courses and athletic clubs in two separate categories: Sustainable Landscaping and Beneficial Use of Exceptional Quality Biosolids and Biosolids Compost.

Gastech 2019 Announces Conference Speakers

Gastech announced more than 400 speakers will present at the 2019 conference. Industry leaders ranging from global ministers and CEOs to engineers and analysts will share valuable insights and cutting-edge content on the natural gas and associated industries.

“We are excited to welcome such a dynamic and influential group of speakers to Gastech this year,” said Jenny Kelly, conference director for Gastech 2019. “Presentations on key industry topics ranging from the evolving energy landscape to geopolitical risks will keep attendees up to date on the latest sector challenges and corresponding solutions.”
