EPA Holds Meeting to Discuss Aircraft Water Regulations
On June 1, EPA held a public meeting in Washington, D.C., to discuss the development of regulations for aircraft public water systems.
In support the rulemaking process, EPA engaged in a collaborative stakeholder process with representatives from industry, government, public interest groups and the general public.
During the meeting, EPA provided a presentation on the current National Primary Drinking Water Regulations as they apply to aircraft, recent EPA aircraft drinking water sampling results, and the process that will be followed in developing an aircraft drinking water rule.
Topics included the appropriate frequency of microbial monitoring and disinfection practices.
