Water technology companies will sponsor a thought-leadership discussion held May 8, 2014

Innovation in technology to improve water infrastructure is the subject of a one-day event hosted by Echologics and Severn Trent Water. The event will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Severn Trent Centre in Coventry, U.K.

Echologics, an affiliate of Mueller Co., is a developer and provider of acoustic-based technologies for water loss management, leak detection and pipe condition assessment.

The invitation-only event connects leaders from across the water industry to discuss challenges and successes to improve leak detection practices. Leadership from both companies will participate in a panel to discuss leakage management.

Additional topics include acoustic leak detection, where Echologics and Severn Trent Water will highlight the successes of several counties in England using the LeakFinderST correlator and how it has helped the counties improve the efficiency and accuracy of identifying leaks across all piping materials including plastic. Co-developed by Echologics and Severn Trent Water with the help of Loughborough University, LeakFinderST is a commercial noise correlator that saves time and energy when detecting leaks.

"For the second year in a row, we are partnering with Severn Trent Water to provide a day of innovation where leaders can discuss the latest technology advancements in leak detection services," said Marc Bracken, vice president and general manager of Echologics. "This one-day event is a great opportunity for attendees to be a part of a round-table discussion and hear first-hand how products like the LeakFinderST correlator are transforming the industry."

Echologics and Severn Trent Water were recent recipients of the Most Innovative New Technology of the Year award and the overall Outstanding Innovation 2014 award at the Water Industry Achievement Awards hosted by WET News and Water & Wastewater Treatment.
