ABB Receives Award for Innovative Web-Enabled Paperless Recorder
Technical publication Control Engineering magazine selected ABB’s InformIT Screenmaster 3000 Multipoint Videographic Recorder to receive its prestigious Editors’ Choice Award, based on the criteria of service to the industry, technological advancement and market impact. The award was presented to ABB at a ceremony held in Chicago during National Manufacturing Week in February.
The SM3000 paperless recorder provides up to 36 recording channels, and offers standard strip chart, circular chart, digital indicator, process and bar graph displays on a 12.1-inch color screen. The IP66/NEMA 4X rated device can be used in harsh environments and hose down areas. Typical applications include food processing plants, water and wastewater facilities and chemical plants.
In addition to its ability to be integrated into PC networks, the recorder provides access over the Internet, and has a flash memory to store up to 2.8 million data samples. External data storage is accomplished using state-of-the-art high capacity Compact Flash & SmartMedia Cards. DataManager, an Excel add-in, enables a user to easily analyze and validate the data archived from the media cards, or data transferred via Ethernet. It is data security compliant with 21 CFR Part 11.
