oilskimmer solves environmental concerns for machinery company

July 22, 2002
Caterpillar dealer supplies rental of machines for short-term use in construction. When machines are returned, many are loaded with mud, grease and oil. The mud can be removed simply by washing the machine, but the resultant grease and oil in the wash water is of concern. Federal and local EPA regulations require that water returned to its original source be free of commercial contaminants. This Caterpillar dealer found that using an OilSkimmers Model 6-V oilskimmer to remove oil from the water resulted in an EPA clean bill of health for return of water to the environment. The Oilskimmer Model 6-V can run 24 hours a day unattended. It has also been used in bus garages and military vehicle washdown facilities.
