Big Bear Mountain Premium Spring Water Debuts in Southern California

April 12, 2002
The San Manuel Bottled Water Group, Southern California's newest bottled water producer, announced at a grand opening VIP event the launch of Big Bear Mountain Premium Spring Water.

Marking the newest economic venture for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Big Bear Mountain Premium Spring Water is the same water that Native American people have enjoyed for centuries.

With growing concerns over water purity and quality, the San Manuel Bottled Water Group is ushering in this new premium spring water from protected springs in the foothills of the Big Bear Mountain region, the ancestral homeland of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.

In April 2001, the San Manuel Bottled Water Group began construction on a 56,000-square-foot state-of-the-art bottling facility, capable of producing more than 350 bottles of water per minute.

"We felt it was time to supply the local communities with a bottled water product they could call their own," said Peter Willis, general manager and chief executive officer for the San Manuel Bottled Water Group.

"Bottled at our source, Big Bear Mountain Premium Spring Water is produced from isolated springs that have been protected by a people that live in harmony with the environment every day. This water is produced in Southern California and we take great pride in providing pure, refreshing water at a tremendous value to this great community."

Big Bear Mountain Water is a natural refreshment that contains a wholesome balance of minerals, and is devoid of contaminants, calories and carbonation with very low sodium.

The San Manuel Bottled Water Group has taken great measures to provide pure, premium water by adopting a revolutionary disinfectant technology using a pulse broadband light to eliminate any living organisms in the water, ensuring consumers the cleanest and purest water available. Big Bear Mountain Premium Spring Water is the first beverage in the country to use this advanced purification system.

"We established this company to share with the community the pristine water the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians have enjoyed for centuries," said Deron Marquez, chairman of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.

"We are striving to give back to the community that has given us so much and to diversify our Tribal business beyond traditional gaming ventures. This we feel is of the utmost importance to secure the economic and social future of the Tribe, as well as continue to be an active leader in the Southern California community."

Big Bear Mountain Premium Spring Water is currently available to Southern California consumers at select grocery stores and retail outlets in several sizes ranging from an 8 ounce bottle, 500 milliliter, 700 milliliter, 1 liter, 1.5 liter, .5 gallon, 1 gallon and 2.5 gallon bottles.

In addition, Big Bear Mountain Water offers home and office delivery service to select areas within the Inland Empire featuring 3- and 5-gallon containers with convenient handles and a spill-proof cap. The company offers its delivery of Premium Spring Water in convenient 3- and 5-gallon sizes, as well as Purified and Drinking Water in 5-gallon bottles.

A range of the smaller bottle sizes is also available for home and office delivery by the case.
