Story is actively involved in community and economic development efforts. She currently serves as the national chair for the Center for Energy Workforce Development, and is on the boards of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the Alliance to Save Energy. While in Florida, she was appointed to the Federal Judiciary Nominating Commission, the Florida Base Realignment and Closure advisory council and the Task Force on Healthcare Accessibility and Affordability.
