A wastewater utility facing recurring maintenance issues from clogged submerged level sensors sought a more reliable solution for pump station level measurement. By replacing contact-based probes with non-contact 80 GHz radar level transmitters, the utility was able to improve measurement reliability while reducing the need for routine cleaning and emergency service callouts. The radar technology provides continuous, accurate level monitoring for pump control without direct exposure to wastewater, helping operators maintain performance in challenging conditions. Fast, Bluetooth-enabled commissioning further simplified deployment and replacement. As a result, the utility achieved lower maintenance costs, improved worker safety, and more dependable pump station operation, while minimizing both installation complexity and long-term operating expenses.
