Elizabeth Watson Keddy was recognized for her efforts to reduce energy consumption & lower costs

The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) announced that Elizabeth Watson Keddy of SUEZ North America has been selected as the grand prize winner of the 2015 NAWC Living Water Award. The announcement was made as part of the 2015 NAWC Water Summit held in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Living Water Awards program, established in 2012, celebrates private water industry professionals who are “living water” through their commitment to quality service and the environment. Watson was selected as the winner among a group of four finalists and is the third recipient of this honor.

Watson, energy manager for SUEZ, has spent the past five years studying energy issues at SUEZ sites and looking for new opportunities to reduce energy consumption and lower costs. She has identified several methods—advanced metering and process control, comprehensive energy audits and staff mentoring—to help meet these objectives. Watson’s efforts have led to the delivery of energy efficient processes, renewable energy systems, green infrastructure solutions and demand response to municipal, institutional and industrial clients across the U.S.

“Elizabeth’s vision and commitment to improving the energy footprint of her company and the communities it serves is truly inspirational and exemplifies the dedication shared by professionals in the water industry,” said Michael Deane, NAWC’s executive director. “What she has been able to accomplish is extremely impressive and certainly deserving of the Living Water Award. I congratulate both Elizabeth and SUEZ North America for the excellent work they do across the country.”

“Elizabeth has learned that driving company culture means having the highest integrity, believing in shared success and doing work that is nothing less than brilliant," said Bob Iacullo, executive vice president for SUEZ North America and a member of the NAWC board of directors. "The entire SUEZ team is honored by her success, and beholden to her drive and commitment to our business and our industry. She embodies the spirit and intention of the Living Water Award and lives it every hour of every day by constantly promoting environmental sustainability through energy efficiency and the reduction of CO2 emissions. All of us at SUEZ congratulate her on being the 2015 Living Water Award winner.”
