The Water Quality Association (WQA) annually recognizes leaders in the water quality improvement industry. Award winners are selected from nominations submitted by WQA members. Every member is eligible to nominate or be nominated for an award.
The Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed on a WQA member. This recipient is recognized for lifetime dedication and service to the water quality improvement industry, and for extensive participation and unfailing support for the betterment of the association.
The Lifetime Member Award goes to individuals who are or have been active within the industry and have rendered exemplary service to the association, and whose knowledge and accomplishments in the field of water quality entitle them to special recognition.
Like receiving the key to a city, the Key Award recognizes a member for demonstrating the highest qualities of leadership within his or her company, industry and various associations, as well as in local civic and community activities.
The Regents Award is presented to an individual or group of individuals who has made a significant contribution at the state or local level working with issues affecting the industry such as ethics, legislation or educational efforts.
The Award of Merit award may be presented to more than one individual, company or organization in recognition of exceptional service given to the water quality improvement industry.
The International Award of Merit is given to an individual, organization or company that has made significant contributions to the international water quality improvement industry.
The Ray Cross Award recognizes current and former WQA members whose pioneer spirit and unwavering commitment has made a notable difference in the water treatment industry. This award is only available to those who have not previously received a leadership award. The award is named in honor of Ray E. Cross, water specialist emeritus and past president of the Water Conditioning Association International (WCAI), the precursor to WQA.
The Honorary Member Award is given to the individual whose occupation is outside of the industry, but whose contributions to mankind, through research, education or exemplary service in or related to water quality are meritorious.
The deadline for nominations is August 18, 2006. Nominations are evaluated by the award criteria. Winners will be honored at the Opening General Session during WQA Aquatech USA 2007 in Orlando, Fla.
