Thousands of local and international water industry specialists will gather at Water Expo China, held Nov. 10 to 13 at the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre in Beijing, China.

The 2008 fair has attracted 200 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions including Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the U.S.

Commenting on the fair, Jason Cao, general manager, Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co., Ltd., said: “We expect Water Expo China 2008 to be a bridge for successful and smooth communication between China and the rest of the world. Our exhibitors will display their latest technologies and at our various forums there will be open discussions about the water conservation challenges facing China and the solutions that are available.”

To highlight their technology offerings and expertise, Japan and Israel have organized national pavilions.

The Israeli Pavilion will showcase the country’s advanced technologies and experiences relating to water resource management, water conservation, irrigation, wastewater treatment and seawater desalination.

The Japan Pavilion is organized by the Japan Water Forum, a Japanese nonprofit organization set up to help solve the world’s water problems, and features four exhibitors. Kondo Kaori, Japan Water Forum chief officer, said: “While Japan still contends with water challenges, Japan has not only overcome its own water circumstances, but is also committed to assist with its expertise and technologies for the resolution of water circumstances in China and throughout the region. Japan is massively investing in water infrastructure projects throughout the region and is the biggest donor to water projects in developing countries.”

Hundreds of local and international water industry specialists, including government officials and industry representatives, are expected to participate in the 3rd Water Summit Conference, taking place during the fair from Nov. 10 to 11.
