Discussion: Fluoridated Drinking Water, Women with Diabetes Discussions

Dr. William Maas, CDC oral health expert, and Dr. Gloria Beckles and Patricia Thompson-Reid, CDC diabetes experts will be available to discuss two CDC reports released today in this week's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) including "Populations Receiving Optimally Fluoridated Public Drinking Water--United States, 2000" and "The Socioeconomic Status of Women with Diabetes"

Dr. Maas will discuss the considerable need and opportunity for additional communities to implement water fluoridation.

Dr. Beckles and Ms. Thompson-Reid will discuss how the socioeconomic status of women with diabetes limits their ability to receive treatment and reduce the risks of complications and early death.

Brief remarks will be followed by Q&A.
