Teleconference Will Cover Water Storage from the Operations Perspective

March 10, 2003
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) will host water industry officials from throughout the nation in a water storage teleconference to be held in locations across North America on Thursday, March 13, 2003. The Water Storage teleconference will focus primarily on finished water storage facilities and will provide a detailed overview of water quality issues related to storage, proper maintenance, tank inspection, and water storage security. The teleconference includes presentations from experts in the field, as well as panel discussions and question-and-answer sessions.

The AWWA was established in 1881 and is the oldest and largest nonprofit scientific and educational organization dedicated to safe drinking water in North America. AWWA has over 56,000 members worldwide and its 4,500 utility members serve 80 percent of America's population.

"The importance of proper water storage is critical to utility operations," said Jack Hoffbuhr, AWWA executive director. "This teleconference will help utilities in their mission to provide safe and secure drinking water to their communities."
