New Location for 2008 CTI Annual Conference

Oct. 15, 2007

The Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) will hold its 2008 Annual Conference in Houston on February 3 – 7, 2008 at The Westin Galleria in Houston.

The CTI Annual Conference is for everyone involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of cooling towers and other evaporative heat rejection equipment used in the air-conditioning, industrial, process and power industries.

This year’s conference will feature the largest Table-Top Exhibition ever on Tuesday evening February 5, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. More than 40 exhibitors, including equipment manufacturers, service providers, component suppliers, and water treatment professionals will be on-hand to inform conference attendees of the latest products and developments in the industry.

The popular Owner/Operator Council session has been expanded this year to a four-hour interactive seminar focusing on various elements of cooling tower operation; including inspection of mechanical equipment, structural components and piping. The Owner/Operator Council is exclusively for equipment owners and operators, and hence provides an open forum for the exchange of information in a non-commercial setting. This session will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 5 and will include lunch.

This year’s popular Education Seminar will focus on “Cooling Tower Ancillary Equipment and Services” and will take place on Wednesday, February 6 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. There will be four separate presentations with ample time for questions and answers. Water treatment professionals would be most interested in attending Water Treating in Cooling Towers by Mike Trulear of ChemTreat, Inc.

A Panel Discussion on the topic of Cooling System Water Treatment will take place on Monday afternoon, February 4. This highly interactive session will deal with current issues and technology in water treatment.

A total of 24 new technical papers will be presented in concurrent sessions on Monday all day, and Tuesday morning, February 4 and 5. Covered topics range from equipment application, component technology, water treatment, operational strategy and more.

Technical Committee Meetings, an “Ask The Expert” session, and social events such as the famous Monday Night Dinner to round out the CTI Conference Agenda.

More information and technical paper abstracts are available on the CTI Website, www.CTI.org, or by calling the CTI office at (281) 583-4087.
