Howard Putnam to Give Speech at IBWA Convention and Trade Show

July 5, 2005

Howard Putnam, former president and CEO of Southwest Airlines will address the IBWA 47th Annual Convention and Trade Show as the Keynote Speaker on Thursday, September 29, 2005 during the general session and annual business meeting held during the convention. His program on leadership and innovation promises to be an inspiring presentation by an energetic and internationally recognized corporate executive whose vision helped reshape the volatile airline industry.

In 1978 Putnam was recruited to become president and CEO of the then fledgling Southwest Airlines in Dallas, TX. While at Southwest Putnam and his team tripled the revenues and tripled profitability in three years. They also successfully guided Southwest through airline deregulation and Southwest was the first air carrier to order the Boeing 737-300, which later became the largest selling aircraft ever for Boeing.

“The IBWA Annual Convention and Trade Show provides an opportunity for the bottled water industry to gather for a comprehensive educational and motivational experience,” said Joe Doss, IBWA president. “At a time when the bottled water industry is facing many internal and external challenges, having an innovative thinker like Howard Putnam as the keynote speaker will offer our members organizations clear and concise vision on how to survive and thrive through turbulence. This event is simply not to be missed.”

The IBWA 47th Annual Convention and Trade Show, “Quality Through Innovation,” will be held in Orlando, Florida, September 27-30, 2005 at the Orange County Convention Center and The Rosen Centre Hotel.
