HDR Names Carpenter National Technical Director for Water Reuse

HDR has promoted Guy Carpenter from water quality program manager to the firm’s national technical director of water reuse.

In his new role, Carpenter is responsible for nationwide business and technical development and client management in this rapidly growing area. Carpenter is based in HDR’s Phoenix office.

Prior to joining HDR in 2003, Carpenter was the water resources manager for Gilbert, Ariz., a 100-percent water reuse community. Carpenter helped develop Arizona’s statewide water reuse regulations and local construction standards and led the creation of the Arizona Section of the WateReuse Association. He has presented numerous papers on the proper role of reclaimed water in integrated water resources planning.

Carpenter is active in several state and national organizations including the WateReuse Association and Foundation, past chairman of the Arizona Water Resources Technical Committee, current chairman of the Arizona Water Pollution Control Association Reclaimed Water Committee, and member of the advisory committee of the Arizona Water Institute. He also is a member of the American Public Works Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Works Association and Water Environment Federation.
