Sept. 29, 2014
The study is set to be complete in October 2014

RJN Group Inc. (RJN) has begun year three, phase three of a sanitary sewer evaluation study (SSES) for the city of Effingham, Ill. The focus of the SSES is to find sources of inflow/infiltration (I/I); update both collection system and storm system maps; and to demonstrate to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency that a capacity, management, operation and maintenance program is in place.

The city has taken a proactive approach to inspecting their collection system by including in their fiscal budget monies to systematically inspect sections of their collection system each year.

Services that RJN is performing as part of the SSES phase three include manhole inspections, smoke testing, dye testing, GIS mapping and connectivity.

The study area for year three is comprised of 51,000 linear ft of sewer and is set to be completed in October 2014.
