Toray announced the award of a contract to provide the Collier County South County Regional Water Treatment Plant (CCSCRWTP) with 2,160 elements to complete the county’s 12 mgd reverse osmosis expansion project. The elements, TM720-400s, will produce potable water for the more than 150,000 customers served by the Collier County Public Utilities Department, located in Naples, Fla.
Construction has already begun on the expansion of the current plant, and should be completed by next summer. Toray will deliver the elements in October of this year. Upon their arrival and subsequent loading, the TM720-400 elements will be charged with the task of producing reliable, potable product water from local groundwater aquifers.
Toray introduced the TM700 family of elements to the Americas in 2001 as an updated version of the original SU700 series and it has been a success thanks in no small part to its diverse applicability. The TM720 is interchangeable with the brackish water elements made by every other major manufacturer. As a single product, it reflects Toray’s larger commitment to being an aggressive innovator in the water treatment industry.
