WE&RF Welcomes New Board Members

Chris Hill, Ken Lykens bring a combined 40 years of industry experience

The Water Environment & Reuse Foundation (WE&RF) announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the board, which is composed of volunteer members from municipal utilities, industry, government agencies, corporations and academia, are Chris Hill of ARCADIS and Ken Lykens of HDR Eng. The board has sole authority for all of the foundations' research activities, including awarding research contracts and providing policy and funding direction.

Chris Hill, P.E., BCEE, ENV SP, serves as vice president/regional value proposition leader at ARCADIS. He brings more than 20 years of experience in municipal drinking water quality, treatment and treatment facility design to the WE&RF Board. He received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University. 

Ken Lykens currently serves as central region water business group director for HDR Eng. Inc. He brings more than 20 years of leadership and management experience in the water and wastewater industry. He received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Science in finance from Denver University. 

WE&RF also expresses its gratitude for the dedicated service of the board members who are stepping off the Board:

  • Rajendra P. Bhattarai, P.E., BCEE, Austin Water Utility, Texas;
  • Brian Biesemeyer, City of Scotsdale Water Resources Department in Arizona;
  • Paul Jones, P.E., Eastern Municipal Water District in California;
  • Ed McCormick, P.E., of McCormick Strategic Water Management LLC;
  • Thomas Minwegan, of Clark County Water Reclamation District, Nevada; and
  • Ray Tremblay, of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, California.

“WE&RF has been lucky to have such outstanding leaders during its transition from two research foundations to one,” said Melissa Meeker, WE&RF CEO. “We deeply appreciate all that the retiring members have done for the foundation and are excited to work with the new members on our board.”
