EPA Hosts Webinar on SepticSmart Week

May 19, 2017
Event concerns how state, local governments protect & proclaim the week

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced it will hosts a webinar on how state and local governments protect and proclaim SepticSmart Week. The webinar will be held May 16.

SepticSmart Week 2017 is Sept. 18 to 22. During last year’s SepticSmart Week, 15 state governors, mayors, and county officials and two EPA Regions issued SepticSmart Week Proclamations. A SepticSmart Week Proclamation encourages all homeowners and business owners with septic systems to use the SepticSmart program to learn proper maintenance of their systems and ensure appropriate treatment and disposal of wastewater. Webinar presenters will outline the process taken for governors, mayors, or localities to issue SepticSmart Week 2017 Proclamations.

The webinar will be held 2 to 3:30 p.m. Eastern, May 16, 2017. To register, click here. For more information on the U.S. EPA Decentralized Wastewater Partnership, click here.
