Offices will help serve growing European markets

The global AC drives manufacturer Vacon is setting up new representative offices in Romania and Ukraine to serve the growing markets in Eastern and South Eastern Europe. Due to the increasing demand for energy savings and optimized process control, variable speed AC drives are becoming a standard solution in many applications.

"We want to increase the number of regional Vacon offices in order to serve our customers wherever they operate," said Heikki Hiltunen, executive vice president, Vacon. "Economic reforms have been very rapid both in Romania and Ukraine during the past few years. I am confident that the growing industry and economy in these countries will benefit from our energy-saving AC drives."

"Vacon's main segments in Romania will be power, water and wastewater, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), machine building, the petrochemical and the marine industry. Vacon's AC drives professionals offer segment-specific know-how and competent service. We are eager to make the Vacon brand strong in the Romanian AC drives market," said Johann Goldfuss, managing director of Vacon's subsidiary in Austria and head of Vacon's Romania representative office.

"In Ukraine, our main market segments will be industry and the energy sector. Ukraine is a major producer of heavy machinery and industrial equipment for the mining, metal and chemical industries, so there is a huge business potential for our AC drives solutions in the country," Hiltunen said.
