Trojan Technologies Announces Board Nominations and Management Appointment

Former Premier of Ontario and United States Industry Leader Nominated to Board of Directors

Trojan Technologies Inc. announced that Quincalee Brown, Ph.D., CAE and The Hon. Bob Rae, P.C., O.C., Q.C., L.L.D have been nominated for appointment to the board of directors of the company.

Both have agreed to serve as directors if shareholders at the company's annual meeting to be held in London, Ontario, on Jan. 16, 2002, approve their nomination.

Brown was most recently executive director of the Water Environment Federation ("WEF") in Washington, D.C., a post she held from 1986 until her retirement in October this year. WEF is an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the global water environment. WEF's 40,000 members include engineers, scientists, government officials, equipment manufacturers, academicians and others involved in the protection of water quality. Dr. Brown earned a BA in Speech Communications from Wichita State University; an M.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Pittsburgh; and a Ph.D. in Speech Communications and Human Relations from the University of Kansas.

Rae served as Ontario's 21st Premier and was elected eight times to federal and provincial parliaments before his retirement from politics in 1996. He is a partner in the Goodmans law firm and has an extensive mediation and public policy practise. Mr. Rae has a B.A. and an LLB from the University of Toronto and B.Phil. degree from Oxford University. Rae was appointed to Her Majesty's Privy Council for Canada in 1998 and was appointed an officer of the order of Canada in 2001. Mr. Rae is a panel member of the Canadian Internal Trade Disputes Tribunal, and is on the international commercial arbitrators list of the Canadian Council for International Business, and ADR Chambers. He is a member of the Board of Tembec, Inc., and a number of charitable organizations.

The rich experiences of the two nominees will be of tremendous benefit as we transition Trojan to a renewed market focus."

The company also announced the appointment of Jan van der Woerd, P.Eng., MBA, to the position of Vice President, North America Municipal Sales. This is a new position in the company with a mandate to increase sales in the North American wastewater and drinking water markets. Jan will manage Trojan's distribution channels in North America and will work closely with the Company's sales representatives, ensuring they have the necessary sales tools and support to grow Trojan's business. Jan has extensive experience in distribution management and has held senior leadership positions with a major utility company. "Jan is an important addition to our senior management team," said Allan Bulckaert, president and chief executive officer. "As we move to a more market focussed company to complement our product strengths, Jan brings significant value with his in-depth knowledge of sales and marketing management. With his input, we will provide the necessary support to all of our sales people, ensuring they are equipped to deliver on our growth targets."
