Wastewater Plant in Pinckneyville, Ill. to Hold Solar Panel Installation Ceremony

New solar array will be unveiled Dec. 8

The wastewater treatment facility located in Pinckneyville, Ill. will hold an opening unveiling ceremony for its new solar array installation on Dec. 8.

Those in attendance will witness a celebratory installation of the final panel in the array on Friday.

The new array boasts 424 kW in solar energy and marks an eco-friendly step in energy consumption for the wastewater plant.

City Clerk Larry West says that “by using solar power at our wastewater treatment facility, we are using a sustainable energy source that will help us save taxpayers’ dollars by reducing our energy costs over the long term.”

Adding to the ceremony, those in attendance will also witness a presentation and be taken on a brief tour of the facility.
