Dublin San Ramon Services District Optimizes Water, Wastewater Assets

District selects Innovyze’s InfoMaster Suite software

Innovyze announced that the Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) in California has chosen industry-leading InfoMaster Suite software to optimize the management of its water and wastewater critical assets.

DSRSD is an independent special district founded in 1953. Serving more than 171,000 people, the district provides water, recycled water, and wastewater treatment and resource recovery services to residents, businesses, industries and governmental agencies. Specifically, it provides potable and recycled water service to Dublin and the Dougherty Valley area of San Ramon; wastewater collection, treatment, and resource recovery to Dublin and southern San Ramon; and wastewater treatment and resource recovery to Pleasanton (via contract).

The district has received both local and national recognition. In September 2015, the California Local Agency Formation Commission honored the DSRSD and five neighboring agencies with its Government Leadership Award for working together on regional governance initiatives. In 2014, the district received the California Association of Sanitation Agencies (CASA) Technological Innovation and Achievement Award and the WaterReuse California Community Outreach and Public Education Program of the Year Award for implementing the state’s first residential recycled water fill station to help the Bay Area conserve water during the drought.

In 2016, DSRSD received the Special District Leadership Foundation’s Transparency Certificate of Excellence. In 2012, the district received the Organizational Excellence Award from CASA for organizing and implementing the Bay Area Chemical Consortium as a way to reduce chemical costs needed for operating water treatment plants. The district has also been a state-recognized Certified Green Business through the Alameda County Green Business Program since 2004.

Built atop ArcGIS, InfoMaster Suite fully automates all aspects of maintenance operations, including equipment history, scheduling, preventive maintenance, work orders and reporting. It also gives asset-intensive organizations a complete picture of their assets’ condition and health, as well as refined details about how these assets are related.

It enables users to create records for any water- or non-water related assets in their networks and then effectively manage, integrate, validate, analyze and report on them. These assets can include roads, signs, benches, schools, buildings, parks and recreation areas, trees, treatment plants, tanks, and pumps, as well as water, wastewater and storm water networks. Users can gain in-depth view and control of all critical assets that affect regulatory compliance, risk and business performance.

The Suite’s powerful modeling capabilities also help users prolong the useful lives of their physical assets and improve their performance and operational efficiency at maximum savings, letting them know when assets should be repaired or replaced.

InfoMaster Suite arms users with predictive analytics and modeling capabilities, helping them accurately assess the level of asset deterioration and determine both its likelihood and consequence of failure. This critical information supports a proactive approach to identifying and managing these high-risk assets to help preserve their integrity and keep them operating well into the future. It also eliminates reactive maintenance (waiting for asset failures to occur before repairing). In this way, users can ensure the smartest distribution of dollars spent on replacement and repair of their assets.

They also can create reliable, cost-effective, risk-based capital improvement plans that enhance operational efficiency and quality of service and keep assets performing at peak condition while making the most of limited budgets. Complete hierarchical data models can also be generated, improving the user’s ability to represent network assets, maintenance activities and the relationships between them.
