Incent Software motivates conservation of water & energy through consumer behavior modification

National water conservation expert Peter Mayer and web developer Steve Whitesell recently formed Incent Software, a software-as-a-solution company that motivates conservation of water and energy through consumer behavior modifcation.

Incent Software provides custom applications that effectively communicate water and energy use, conservation and billing information to residential and non-residential consumers. Incent Software engages consumers via printed reports or on a home computer, tablet or smartphone.

Designed—but not required—to work with advanced metering infrastructure-capable utilities, Incent leverages monthly, weekly, daily, hourly and more up-to-date meter data. The software reports on everything from usage patterns to program participation and allows utilities to customize messaging for their consumer base. It also features administrative functions like contact management and tracking, configurable high usage and emergency alerts, and e-billing system integration.

In addition to its suite of software, Incent provides toll-free technical support for utilities and consumers.

Incent Software founders Mayer and Whitesell have experience in Web development, programming and resource usage analysis and conservation. Mayer, a professional engineer and software developer, has more than 19 years of experience in water demand research and analysis. As CEO of Radian Technical Marketing, Whitesell creates websites, databases, branding, collateral and presentation materials for clients in a variety of engineering industries, including resource conservation.
