SNC-Lavalin Gets $300 Million Sarir Water Pipe Plant Contract In Libya

SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. of Montreal has received a contract worth C$475.2 million, or just under $300 million USD, for the operation, maintenance, care and custody of Libya's Sarir water pipe plant.

In a press release, SNC-Lavalin said it will take over, renovate and start up the Sarir facility, and then make 15,000 Pre-Stressed Concrete Cylinder Pipes, or PCCPs, 7.5 meters in length and of various diameters, to be used in conveyance pipelines. The company will supply all materials, labor and equipment to make the pipes. It will assume operation of the Sarir Plant and facilities in June and carry out the work over a period of 20 months.

SNC-Lavalin is an engineering and construction company. This is the third water-related project it has received from the Great Man-Made River Authority
